TOYOTA Unveils Its First Electric Cargo Vehicle

According to foreign media reports, the car brand TOYOTA recently announced the launch of its first E-Cargo Bike electric cargo bike. This also marks that the Toyota Motor brand has officially joined the E Bike battle. This brand-new electric cargo electric vehicle will go on sale in France in September, and there is currently no news about sales in other regions.

Frank Marotte, CEO of Toyota France, said in a statement: "Twenty-five years ago, Toyota successfully created a gasoline-electric hybrid car model, and worked hard to promote it to every consumer, so that everyone can contribute to the protection of the environment. We share the same philosophy as Douze Cycles, so we entered into a partnership to introduce this new electric delivery vehicle."

This car is jointly built by Douze Cycles and TOYOTA. From the appearance point of view, it is basically optimized from the existing Douze Hêta model. It uses an aluminum frame, and there is a storage box about 850mm deep in the front, which can carry up to 100kg items. In addition, what is particularly surprising is that the storage box is designed to be detachable, which greatly increases the flexibility of use. In addition, you can also choose a magnetic buckle seat, which can be instantly converted into a stroller for use.

Carefully study the power system of this car does not come from TOYOTA, but the YAMAHA motor system. It uses a 250W mid-drive motor and a 500W battery. According to official data, it can travel 100km on a single charge. In terms of configuration, 10-speed Shimano kits, Tektro hydraulic disc brakes, Schwalbe E-Bike dedicated Pick-Up tires are used, and the charging time takes four hours.

TOYOTA's E-Cargo has ulterior motives in the selection of spare parts. A total of 17 parts are detachable kits, which also makes subsequent repairs and maintenance easier. In addition, the frame can accommodate motors of different sizes to increase the service life of the frame itself, so as to achieve the environmental protection concept advocated by TOYOTA. In terms of manufacturing process and materials, TOYOTA and Douze Cycles jointly developed, using recycled materials to extract new polymers as the main material of parts, reducing the generation of carbon footprint, so that this E-Cargo Bike sets a new benchmark for environmental protection.
