To celebrate the launch of the world's first assist electric bicycle in 1993, Yamaha Assist Bicycles has announced the 30th anniversary special edition YDX-MORO 07. The YDX-MORO 07 builds on Yamaha's 30 years of expertise to create a bike specifically for the next generation of e-MTB riders. This limited-production model for the U.S. market will hit dealerships on June 1, 2023, with an MSRP of $6,499.

Drew Engelmann, national sales and marketing manager for power-assisted bicycles at Yamaha, said, “Yamaha has been a pioneer in electric bicycles for more than three decades, and now is an exciting time to move the U.S. industry forward. By 2023, we will Continue to further advance our technology and products to bring e-bikes to riders in America and make every day more fun and fulfilling."

The YDX-MORO 07 combines the patented Dual Twin frame with impressive range efficiency, higher torque and Yamaha's most advanced technologies embodied in the PW-X3 drive unit, including the Interface X control unit, Yamaha's Four-sensor system and the smoothest delivery of power assist on a bike that feels lighter and more powerful completes the package. The special edition model also features a unique polished aluminum finish, Yamaha Racing Blue rocker linkage and head tube, as well as a 30th Anniversary 3D badge on the top tube and a commemorative decal on the rear of the seat tube.

The PW-X3 is Yamaha's smallest, lightest and most powerful drive unit to date, combining increased performance and instant power delivery in an ultra-compact package, promoting a sense of unity between rider and machine for "pure" riding" experience. The PW-X3 boasts a maximum torque of 85Nm while maintaining 250W nominal assist, 500W maximum assist and power assist up to 20 mph. Assistance levels include ECO, Standard, High, MTB, Extra Power, Auto Mode and Walk Assist. Yamaha's Auto Support mode utilizes a four-sensor system to select the appropriate amount of assist based on riding conditions, whether accelerating, braking or climbing a hill, letting the rider leave ride mode changes to the system and focus on the track.

The YDX-MORO 07 Special Edition also features Yamaha's new Interface X control unit, allowing riders to easily access information and manage settings while focusing on the track.
